Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH (JÜLICH) is one of the 16 Helmholtz Association (HGF)research centres in Germany. A Staff of 4400 people is investigating current issues in the areasof energy, environment, life, information and matter contributing to basic research and long-termprogrammes, applied research and key technologies.

Based on the world wide outstanding knowhow in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC), JÜLICH started in 2004 an interdisciplinary approach on membrane development for CO2 sequestration in fossil power plants including materials science, thin film processing, thermo-chemical and -mechanical characterisation, process engineering, and systems analysis.
